Employer New Hire Apprenticeship Incentives not to be extended
 

Alex Burghart, the Apprenticeship and Skills Minister announced this week at the Annual Apprenticeship Conference (AAC), that the employer new hire apprentice incentive scheme will NOT be extended. A reminder of the current apprentice new hire incentive and key dates:
 

  • Employers’ can only apply for apprentices with an employment start date from 1 October 2021 to 31 January 2022. This means that any apprentice with an employment start of 1st February onwards will not be eligible for the incentive.
     
  • New hire Apprentices will need to have an apprenticeship start date from 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2022 but have been a new hire employee between the 1st October 2021 and 31st January 2022
     
  • Final employer Applications close on 15 May 2022.


Please note the ESFA have and will continue to update employers of the key dates and we will also be highlighting the Government’s announcement on our website. A reminder, it is the employer’s responsibility to apply for their incentive.
