This programme is ideal for individuals who have completed the Social Services (Children and Young People) Apprenticeship at SCQF level 7 or for more experienced employees.

SVQ in Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF Level 9
 
Duration
 
12-15 months
 
Entry requirements
 
Candidates should have completed SCQF Level 7 Apprenticeship, or have equivalent qualifications or experience.

 Combines both work-based learning and experience with intensive instructor-led training courses to build and develop relevant industry skills

Progression
 
Employees who complete this apprenticeship will have the skills, knowledge and behaviours they need to take on a supervisory/managerial role in this sector. This can also progress to additional awards or qualification such as a degree in childhood practice or the Leadership and Management of Care Services Apprenticeship at SCQF Level 10. 
 
Funding and financial support
 
Skills Development Scotland will contribute towards the training costs. For apprentices aged 16-19 years, apprenticeship training costs are 100% funded. For apprentices aged 20-24 years, a proportion of the training costs will be covered with employers meeting the rest.
