MODERN APPRENTICESHIP & LEARNING STYLES

Modern Apprenticeship careers to match your learning style

The world wouldn’t be as interesting if we were all the same. With this concept of individuality comes an exciting and eclectic mix of personalities, interests and learning styles.

When it comes to education, career choices and Modern Apprenticeship options, learning styles are as unique as the individual. Your preferred learning style could significantly influence the industry you may decide to focus your Modern Apprenticeship on.

Without considering your learning style, you risk finding yourself in a workplace not fully suited to you, which could present day-to-day challenges and hinder your progression and career prospects.

Here, we explore preferred learning styles and the profession and industry sectors most suited to these. Not only could this impact your choice of Modern Apprenticeship programme but, if considered well, could also see you embark on a career pathway where you are set to excel.

What is a preferred learning style?

Your preferred learning style reflects the most effective way that you take in and process new information.

Preferred learning styles generally fall into three categories:

  • Auditory learner
  • Visual learner
  • Kinaesthetic learner

Preferred learning styles overview

  • Auditory learners are individuals that learn most effectively when talking to a colleague or tutor or by being played a recording of key information.
  • An auditory learner is more likely to have trouble with reading and writing tasks but favour face to face interaction. Auditory learners need to repeat information they learn in order to fully process it.
